POLICY OVERVIEW
The policies listed below are an overview of our general policies. These and additional policies, will be listed in our Pet Sitting Service Contract.
Vaccinations
For everyone’s safety, all pet vaccinations must be up-to-date.
ID Tags
For the safety of your fur babies, all dogs and cats under our care must wear an ID tag with their name and your phone number listed.
Two Hour Window
Melrose Walks Dogs runs on a two-hour window for each scheduled visit. Although we cannot guarantee an exact arrival time, we will do our best to accommodate your request. A pet with an emergency or special needs pets, sometimes may need additional attention and may slightly alter the schedule.
Minimum Visit Requirements for Vacation Pet Sitting
For the safety of your pets while you are out of town, Melrose Walks Dogs has minimum per day visit requirements for Vacation Pet Sitting: dogs must be seen a minimum of three times per day, and cats must be seen at least once per day. We do not allow every other day Vacation Cat Sitting.
Emergency Vet Visits
All clients must fill out a Veterinarian Waiver Form. This form lets Veterinarians know that your pets are being cared for by Melrose Walks Dogs in your absence.
If your pet needs medical attention, the form also enables you to make financial arrangements with your Vet. If your pet becomes ill while you are away, we will take your pet to your veterinarian or the nearest emergency veterinarian (if your vet is not available). In the event you are out of town and an emergency occurs, we will make every attempt to reach you so that you can make decisions on how to proceed.
New Clients
New clients setting up a free consultation meeting, will be required to schedule the meeting two days prior to the date of actual service. If less notice is given, a $10 fee will be charged for the consultation meeting. During the meet and greet consultation, if the Service Contract is signed and services are scheduled, all new clients must provide us with two sets of house keys. Key return arrangements will be made.
CANCELLATION POLICIES
The following cancellation policies may apply. In certain instances we charge cancellation fees because space is limited and we book far in advance.
1.) Dog Walking, Doggy Potty Breaks, Cat Sitting and Pet Taxi Cancellation Policy:
For appointments scheduled Monday-Friday, 7am-6pm: clients will not be charged a cancellation fee if providing 24-hour notice. If canceling before 7am on the day of service, there will be a $5 cancellation fee. Client is responsible for the full service fee when canceling after 7am on the day of service.
For appointments scheduled Monday-Friday, prior to 7am and after 6pm or anytime on the weekend: clients providing 48-hour advance notice, no cancellation fee will apply. Clients providing less than 48-hour notice will be charged a $10 cancellation fee. Client is responsible for the full service fee when canceling after 7am on the day of service.
2.) Pet Vacation Sitting Cancellation Policy:
When canceling Pet Vacation Sitting for dogs and/or cats three weeks or more prior to the date of service, you will not be charged a fee. If canceling after three weeks before the start of service, you will be charged 25% of the service fee for each day scheduled. We do this because clients often book these services months ahead of time and spaces are limited.
3.) Holiday Cancellation Policy
The holidays are our busiest time of year and spaces are limited. If you cancel four weeks or more prior to the holiday service date, you will not be charged a cancellation fee. If you cancel less than four weeks prior to the holiday service date, you are responsible to pay the full service fee. If you cancel Vacation Pet Sitting that falls on a holiday less than four weeks prior to the start of service, you are responsible to pay the full fee for each day of services scheduled.
Holidays: New Year’s Eve/Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving & day after, Christmas Eve/Day.
